Lights Out (61 Shows)
From it's first show on January 1, 1934 to it's last on April 10, 1935, Lights Out was billed "The ultimate in horror."  Never had such sounds been heard on the air.  Heads rolled, bones were crushed, people fell from great heights and splattered wetly on pavement.  Few shows had ever combined the talents of actors and imaginative writers so well with the graphic art of the sound technician.
Lights Out was created, written and produced by Wyllis Cooper and was heard for 15 minutes weekly until April 1934, then 30 minutes weekly; Mondays, then Wednesdays, usually heard around midnight.

The Hermit's Cave (18 Shows)
Starring Mel Johnson as the Old Hermit who stands at the mouth of his cave, warning the weak of heart not to listen: "Ghost stories... Weird stories... And murders too!  The Hermit knows of them all!  Turn out your lights!"  The Hermit's Cave came to radio in 1940 and lasted until 1943.  It was one of radio's first horror series.
